TEAD Therapeutic Riding Centre
TEAD offers therapeutic horseback riding lessons, summer camp, Equine Assisted Learning, and other equine-based programs. Located in Mount Hope, ON.
TEAD has provided high quality, integrated programming to children and youth for over 40 years. Camp Wrangler is a safe, outdoor fun and learning experience. We can’t wait to meet you!
TEAD’s 15 horses have all been chosen for their calm and friendly nature, and trained for use in therapeutic and recreational riding lessons. Perfect for both beginner and intermediate riders, our horses will quickly become your best friends.
Your children are in great hands at Camp Wrangler. Our camp is under the direction of our Program Manager, and daily activities are developed and implemented by our camp coordinator and team of experienced camp counsellors. All our accredited Instructors and Camp Staff are certified in First Aid and CPR.
TEAD is located on 93 acres of forest, trails, and open spaces to explore. Campers will spend the majority of time out in the fresh air, and our indoor riding arena and club house will be reserved for rainy days.
We can’t wait to have our young campers at the farm to enjoy the fresh air, open spaces, daily riding lessons and lots of time with the horses!

NOTE: If your child requires a 1-on-1 support, please contact troton@tead.on.ca. TEAD is offering one spot per week for campers that require a 1-on-1. If your camper has an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) that has been developed elsewhere that you would like to share with us, please include this with your registration or email to troton@tead.on.ca. The more information about your child you can give us, the more successful their experience at camp will be!
How to know if your child requires 1:1 support?
**All campers must have control of bowel and bladder, as our facilities and staff are not equipped to care for campers who require regular support in these areas.
If "yes", please complete a Rider Medical Form package, which must also be signed off by the child's physician. Once completed, please scan and email to Rachel at troton@tead.on.ca.
Approval to ride must be given by our Occupational Therapist. If given, an assessment will be arranged. There will be a $45 additional fee for assessments.
We will determine the supports your child will need for riding, have a helmet fitted, show you around our facility, and determine which of our horses will be most suitable for your child to ensure they have the best possible experience at camp!
If your child has a disability, they must have all the necessary paperwork submitted and approved, and have an assessment completed before they can be registered for camp. A place can be held for them in the meantime for up to 2 weeks until we receive the completed medical forms.
Our full payment/cancellation/refund policy can be read here.
