Description:
This is an older beginner/intermediate sailing class for those with limited or no experience. Students sail in 14' "420 class" sailboats with one or two other people in morning winds that tend to me milder. Emphasis is on learning basic termionolgy, boathandling skills, steering, destination sailing and safety. Beginner/Intermediate age 13-18. 110 lbs+ 0-3 yrs. experience

Required age: 12 - 18 on the day of the activity
Notes: Emergency contacts, medical information, insurance #s, and liability waiver forms must be completed online in Amilia by each student's parent/guardian before their first class. Students are asked to bring their own US Coast Guard approved life vest with a whistle attached (or borrow one of ours), foul weather gear and a water bottle. Classes will meet rain or shine, but students will remain on shore in dangerous weather. Our instructors’ 2024 class placement assignments for last year’s sailors are available. Prerequisites: Ages 13-18, 110lbs+, 0-3 yrs. experience On the first day, students are required to swim the length of the dock (40 ft - without floatation aids) and then put on a lifejacket while in the water - when it is thrown to them.
