  • Junior 3 Ballet Technique runs on Mondays 7:00-7:45pm in Studio A

These ballet classes will follow the RAD Grade 3 syllabus. Students will participate in RAD Class Awards or Examinations at the teacher's discretion. We advise students to be 10-11 years old (born in 2011-2012) or completed the Grade 2 RAD Class Award or Examinationl. Please contact us if you have any questions about placement.

Your child will develop the following skills in Junior 3 Ballet:

  • Understanding and performing Grade 3 syllabus material which includes both classical and character work
  • Continued development of ballet posture and technique including proper use of feet, developing hip and spine placement, how to jump safely and Effectively, turn out, and arm placement.
  • Continuation of character which works on various rhythms and folk styles within a ballet setting.

In Ballet Technique, students will learn material from the Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) program along with other supplementary strength training programs. The Ballet Technique class is designed to help develop the technique and muscle memory of the body through specifically designed exercises that are geared directly towards what the dancers are taught in their syllabus classes.

Your child will develop the following skills in Ballet Technique:

  • Finding various muscle groups to develop and strengthen to achieve better technique in ballet classes. For example hamstring strength and abdominal strength to assist with pelvic alignment and turn out.
  • Expand vocabulary and understanding of body anatomy
  • How to work the body in new ways that can enhance the classical training
