Description:

This is a second year pointe class and will follow the RAD pointe syllabus. We advise students to be 13-16 years of age and have at least one year of previous pointe training along with at least 4 years of previous ballet training. Please contact us if you have questions about placement.

This class must be taken in conjuction with Senior 1 Ballet Wednesday (AP) and Senior 1/2 Ballet Monday.

If you are new to the Accelerated Program and are interested in joining, please contact the Admissions Coordinator at info@theartsconservatory.ca prior to registering, to determine correct placement into our classes.

Your child will develop the following skills in this class:

• building confidence dancing in the centre and expanding from basic to intermediate level pointe.
• safe pointe practices and skills
• how to dance properly in pointe shoes

Required age: 14 - 18 as of 12/31/2023

Notes: DRESS CODE: Black bodysuit leotard (Capezio “MC110” or Wear Moi “Faustine”), light pink or skin-toned tights (Capezio), pointe shoes.

Prerequisites: Students in Senior 1 Pointe are required to also enrol in Senior 1 Ballet (AP) and Senior 1/2 Ballet and Ballet Techique (AP). They are encouraged (but not required) to join another class in a different style of their choice!
