Dancers will learn age appropriate jazz dance skills and learn a piece of choreography that will be performed at 3 competitions in the Spring as well as at the year end recital. Learning will be fast paced and focussed on reaching new goals and developing their expertise within the genre. This class will include at least 45 minutes of developing jazz technique and skill building to enhance strength and ability throughout the year.

Your child will develop the following skills in this class:

• Choreography for competition and recital
• Gross motor and fine motor skills within the jazz style such as grand jetes, pirouettes, pony steps, fan rolls, and more!
  • Increased flexibility and strength

Notes: GIRLS Dress Code: black biketard or black bodysuit and black shorts/leggings/tights, black Jazz shoes BOYS Dress Code: fitted black t-shirt, fitted black shorts or leggings, black jazz shoes

Prerequisites: All levels of competitive jazz students are required to enrol in an age/skill appropriate AP ballet class.
