Description:

Do you have a child who is interested in theatre but doesn’t want to be on the stage? This is the perfect fit for them! In this class, our students will learn everything that goes into the production of a show from the backstage perspective. They will get hands-on experience helping to build, paint, and decorate set pieces and props that will be used in our actual productions. Next they will study the script to learn how scene changes occur, what props are needed, and develop an understanding of lighting and sound design. They will even get the chance to run stage crew for one of our spring productions at the end of the semester. This class will take place in the theater so that students can learn how to work the sound and light boards, how to set up mics and spike the stage, and the ins and outs of how tech rehearsals and performances run.
