Description:

Make Yourself at Home!

Shelter Builder is about thriving outside. Kids might make a little forest home in the woods, or we may track a rabbit or a beaver and see how they get by. Some kids can make and tend fires, while others may find a nice little sit spot by the river to watch the mink catch crayfish. Some kids might design a contraption for their shelter, others might prepare some kindling for the fire, or some art for the front door.

Shelter Builder is an open ended day with support from GOS instructors who help to set the mood, hatch plans, share in the successes and failures, help with any conflict, keep us all safe, and share stories at the end of the day.

Expect

* great ratios (5 students / instructor), and small groups limited to 15
* mentorship to support kids in pursuing their passion, interest, & curiosities
* Professional adult instructors who do this for a living
* Lots of stories on the way home

See you out there!

Notes: GOS PD programs let you breathe easy knowing your kid is outside with caring adults who are trained to support the growth and relationship development of children and nature.  Wait til you see their end of day smiles and hear the stories. PD Days are rain or shine.  Sun, snow, gusts, and fogs, we will be out there. Please dress appropriately. If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer your spot to another set of bright eyes.  Cancellation Policy for PD Camps:  We ask that the first $10 of any registration be considered a deposit. A full refund (minus deposit) can be issued if you cancel with 14 days notice or more, prior to the program start date. Cancellations within 14 days of the start date of a PD Camp are non-refundable.  All effort will be taken to find a replacement participant from a waitlist, should one exist, and should that be completed, then a refund less deposit will be issued. GOS is not responsible for issuing refunds when programs are cancelled due to inclement weather, or circumstances out of our control which may include provincially mandated closure of programs. If a program is cancelled due to low enrolment, tuition will be fully refundable or transferable.
