Description:

Students will learn the basic differences between sailing a keelboat v. a dinghy, and become familiar with rigging/de rigging, and sailing a J24. Students will also learn basic Seamanship Skills that apply to handling a boat of greater mass than a dinghy, both on and off the dock.

Required age: 13 - 17 on the day of the activity

Notes: Students should come dressed in their swimsuit, and wear close-toed shoes. We will provide wetsuits, helmets, and lifejackets. Students should bring a refillable water bottle and sun protection including sunglasses and a hat.

Prerequisites: Pass Intermediate Teen or equivalent. Sailors should be 13 years old or older, over 85 lbs., and more than 5' feet tall.
