Description:

Spot a species as we explore our aquarium and local beaches!

Guided by our marine educators, participants will explore our local ocean, the Salish Sea by:

• exploring the aquarium, learning about and interacting with local marine life - anemones, crabs, fish, octopus, and many more!

• exploring our Salish Sea habitats and the different marine life that inhabits them.

• exploring the inter-tidal zone of different local beaches, searching for and identify marine life, learning about this dynamic ecosystem.

• learning about some of the tools and techniques of marine biologists, from plankton nets to seine nets, we’ll get up close and personal with local marine life!

• Full Day Excursion on Friday by water taxi to Plumpers Cove Marine Park on Keats Island!

We explore in many ways! Games, play, science activities, free-exploration, drawing, journaling, and crafts are incorporated throughout our week program.

Required age: 6 - 8 years old as of 12/31/2024

Prerequisites: Children attending this camp must have already completed Kindergarten. This camp is for children entering grades 1-3 in the new school year.
