6 WEEK CLASS

This class is for the student who wants to explore it all! Build your artistic confidence alongside the basics of 2-D composition, color mixing, collage, and this crazy thing called Mixed Media. Each class will include a teacher demonstration from professional artist Suzan Kraus, who will guide you as you create your own works of art. Tearing, painting, printing, designing, gluing – this class is about thinking outside of the box and making your own rules! Students will walk away with at least three artworks and an incredible experience.

Notes: Supply List: *Apron *Liquitex or Golden Matt Medium (medium viscosity, small bottle) *Heavy paper for ground…140lb watercolor papers *Acrylic paint brush…1 inch and a couple smaller ones too *Container bucket for water *Sharp scissors *Small paper plate to pour the glue onto *3 colorful magazines (not Newsweek or other news publication) can be old or new magazines *Paper palette or plastic or paper plate, I will give other alternatives in the first class) *Paper towels or rags for clean-up *Plastic to cover the table (i.e. shower curtain liner or old sheet) Not needed for class #1 but I will talk about the need for the next few classes: *Paints and palette knives *Simple frame & Mat with opening size 8x10” and one smaller 5x7” Found in Michaels or Walmart *Other materials to include as mixed media projects evolve Art Supply Stores online & other: Dick Blick (Mayfield Rd & Coventry) Cheap Joe's Utrecht Art Supply Daniel Smith Artist Material ASW (Art Supply Warehouse) Michael’s Any Questions?
