Description:

Birds are everywhere, making them a beautiful and engaging nature connection for students right outside your school doors. Join us online for Schoolyard Birds for Educators, a Teacher Pro-D workshop with the Vancouver Avian Research Centre's (VARC) Public Outreach & Education Coordinator, Candace Ross. This workshop will help empower teachers to incorporate bird themes into the classroom and curriculum. We will explore common backyard birds, their amazing adaptations, and how birds are working for us and the local environment.

This virtual Pro-D session includes a lecture, Q & A, activity ideas and demonstrations, and a teacher resource package.

This course will take place online. Recordings will be available for a limited time to participants.

Online course log-in details will be sent within 24 hours before the course date. Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. For cancellations with one week's notice, a credit will be applied to your account. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Program cancellation by the VBGA due to Public Health Restrictions will result in education program credit equivalent to the value lost. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued.
