The purpose of assessment camp is to assess potential competitive team members for the upcoming season. Selected participatns will gain a spot on our competitive tream in our xcel or compulsory programs. Athletes will be required to train 4-9 hours per week if accepted.
Please do not attend camp if you are not serious about joining the competitive program in September.
All campers are responsiblie for bringing their own snack and water bottle to each training session.
A gymsuit must be worn each day and hair is required to be securly tied back, away from the face.
Refunds will not be processed after August 1st unless medical.

PROGRAM PLACEMENT & LEVEL ASSIGNMENT
Athletes are evaluated and placed in groups based on their physical and physiological attributes. All training groups will be determined by the head coach in August. Movement between groups throughout the season will be at the discretion of the head coach only.
Xcel Program: Xcel athletes will train 4-10 hours per week and attend 3-4 competitions per season. Xcel athletes will compete in levels bronze, silver, gold, platnium or diamond.
Compulsory Program (CCP levels 1-5): Compulsory level athletes will train 4-16 hours per week and attend 3-4 competitions per season. Qualified athletes in level 4 & 5 will have the opportunity to compete for a spot on the Atlantic team to represent our province. If your athlete makes team PEI they are required to attend championships and compete for our province.
Canadian Competitive Program (CCP levels 6-10): The minimum training requirement for level 6 and 7 is 12 hours per week. Level 8-10 athletes will train a minimum of 16 hours per week and a maximum of 21 hours. Athletes in level 6-10 will have the opportunity to compete for a spot on the Atlantic team to represent our province. Athletes in levels 7-10 will have the opportunity to qualify for Easterns. Level 9 & 10 athletes will have the opportunity to qualify for nationals and represent our province at the Canadian Championships.
PLEASE NOTE: All competitive programs run throughout the summer. Each program has its own special requirements for summer training which may differ from season to season. There will be multiple weeks of camp offered each season and the minimum training requirement for each training group will be determined by the head coach. Summer training is mandatory in all programs.
TRAINING FEES AND PAYMENT POLICY
What does the annual fee cover? Your annual training fee covers the cost of training (Sept-June) and registration to selected competitions. Competitions not included in the annual training fee are Atlantics, Easterns, and Nationals. Each season there is a yearly registration fee; this fee also covers athlete insurance for the year. The fee for the 2023-2024 season is $175 per athlete ($275 for families with two athletes) all registration fees will be auto withdrawn from your account during the month of August (the exact date will be communicated each season) Unless medical, the annual registration fee is non-refundable.
Additional Expenses: For competitions that require overnight stay all accommodation and travel expenses are the responsibility of the parents. Travel expenses for our coaches are claculated after the competition and divided by the amount of athletes that attended the event. Each competition will have a spectator’s admission fee (usually $5-$10). All athletes are also required to purchase a competitive gymsuit and tracksuit. The attire will change every 2-3 yeas and the total price shall not exceed $375. Athletes who compete level 4 and above will have the opportunity to make Team PEI. Team PEI attire and competition fees are considered additional expenses and are payable to Gymnastics PEI at Provincial Championships when the teams are announced.
Choreography fees: Each season there will be a clinic for all compulsory level athletes (levels 1-5) to learn the floor and beam routine. Participants will be divided by right and left routines and the cost of each clinic will be $40. Each optional athlete (levels 6-10) will require an individual floor routine, the cost for new choreography will be $100 per routine. Xcel athletes also require an individual routine or a shared routine. Individual routines are $100 and shared routines are $50. Parents can request to have either a shared routine or an individual routine. If no request is made the coaches will decide.
Fundraising: Fundraising is ongoing throughout the competitive season. Our club will do fundraisers to offset the cost of new purchases and upgrades to our equipment. Competitive athletes are expected to actively participate in each fundraiser.
Payment/ Refund Policy: The fee schedule for each athlete is based on an annual amount. Parents who choose to pay the year in full can do so online through amilia. All other payments will be automatically withdrawn (monthly) through amilia. Payments will be withdrawn on the 1st of each month by credit card, visa debit or e check. If a payment in unsuccessful, the system will automatically resubmit the payment. If you decide to discontinue with gymnastics throughout the season 30 days’ notice must begiven. All unpaid fees will be considered owing up until the end of the 30-day period. Any overpayment minus a $30 admin fee will be returned at the end of the 30-day period. The deadline for summer registration is May 25th. The cancellation date is June 20th. No refunds will be issued after the cancellation date unless medical and all scheduled summer payments will still be processed. Replacements may be made if space is available. Cancelled summer registrations will be subject to a $30 admin fee for each registered week.
Training schedules: Training schedules cannot be altered or substituted for different times/days in the CCP program. We understand that some athletes may choose to be involved in other activities, but we cannot adjust our training schedules to accommodate these activities. If you are choosing to miss one of your scheduled training days, there will not be a reduction in your training fees. The Xcel program has some flexibility with training schedules and an additional add on day that athletes can attend if they miss a training day due to other sports.
Injuries: If a gymnast is injured, she is still expected to attend regular training. The program will be modified to fit the gymnasts needs but it is very important that all athletes attend gym regularly throughout the duration of an injury. Mentally, gymnasts can suffer greatly due to time outside of the gym. If time is missed due to an injury, there will not be a refund of fees.
Discounts -There is a 15% discount for each additional child in a competitive family.
Holidays –Parents will be provided with prior notice regarding cancelled training due to holidays.
