Description du programme

L'aide aux devoirs est un programme géré par le Centre communautaire Walkley. Notre programme est dirigé par nos animateurs (étudiants collégiaux et universitaires), des bénévoles et notre coordinateur après l'école.

Les animateurs et bénévoles sont chargés de soutenir un groupe de 10 à 12 enfants avec les devoirs qu'ils ont à l'école. Ces bénévoles sont encadrés par notre coordinateur d’aide aux devoirs.

Le programme d'aide aux devoirs n'est pas un programme de tutorat. Les enfants ne travaillent pas   1 à 1 avec nos employés et bénévoles. Les animateurs vont s'asseoir avec les enfants en 1 à 1 pour répondre à leurs questions et les guider , mais ils ne passeront pas la période de devoir avec juste un seul enfant. 

Les animateurs et bénévoles n'enseignent pas de nouveaux concepts, mais se concentrent plutôt à aider les enfants avec le matériel sur lequel ils travaillent déjà dans le programme de leur école. Ils fourniront des exercices et des leçons supplémentaires si nécessaire. Les animateurs vont aussi corriger les devoirs compléter au centre.   

Program Description

Homework Help is a program run by the Walkley Community Center. Our program is led by our animators (College & University students ), volunteers  and  our after school coordinator.  

The animators and volunteers  are tasked with  supporting a group of 10-12 children with homework they have from school. These volunteers are supervised by our after school coordinator.  

The homework help program is not a tutoring program. Students are not working  on a 1 on 1 basis with our employees and volunteers.The facilitators will sit down with the children in 1 to 1 to answer their questions and guide them, but they will not spend the homework period with just one child.

The animators and volunteers will not be teaching new concepts, but rather will focus on helping students with the material they are already working on in their school’s curriculum. They will provide supplemental exercises and lessons if necessary. The animators will also be correcting any homework that was completed at the center.
