Sewing: Stuffies & Puppets

Description:

This is a special session focusing on sewing stuffies & puppets!

In this class students will learn how to confidently plan and execute their projects using a sewing machine. Students are encouraged to include their own creative spin on the projects.

We will utilize sewing machines, irons, hot glue guns, and possibly heat guns. Your child should be able to follow safety instructions, and be careful with hot and sharp objects.

Sewing is is great for any gender and helps promote the following skills:

• Fine motor skills

• Attention to detail

• Operating (non-digital) machines

• 3-dimensional thinking

• Measuring & calculation

• Problem-solving

Notes: IMPORTANT: Students will need to bring their own fabrics & threads! Supply list will be emailed to you before the class begins. WITHDRAWAL POLICY for Sewing class: • The last day to withdraw and receive a full refund for the class is 7 days before the class start date. (The 3% registration fee is non-refundable.) • If you cancel between 1-7 days before the start date, you will receive a 75% refund instead. • After the class has already started, you have a maximum of 14 days to withdraw and receive a 50% refund back. No refunds will be granted after this 14 day period. • You will not receive a refund or class credit for missed classes. • If a class is cancelled on Young Artists' Place initiative, we will either carry over your class credit (at your request), or refund you for that cancelled class.
