Compose songs with your friends in aftercare! Students will study song form and work collaboratively to learn how to compose lyrics, how to relate the music to the lyrics of a song, and how to set poetry to music. Need more details? Songwriting is a wonderful way for all children, whether they play an instrument or not, to engage deeply in music while building literacy and collaborative skills and building meaningful community with their friends.

Donations

Don’t freak out… donations to band are made by clicking "register" for band and selecting the “membership” level that is right for you.

This program is donation based.  Every child will participate regardless of a family's ability to donate.  We ask all who can to give what they are able.  If everyone donates as they are able, band will be fully funded. To make band possible we need everyone to donate what they can.  

Important note: Donations to band are made by selecting the “membership” level that is right for your family.  When you click the red “register” button above, you will be asked to select the child participating, and then asked to “purchase” a membership (which you can donate all at once, or over time) – this is your optional band donation and you will be asked to select an amount (from $0 to $2000).

Notes : Songwriting will be held between 2:30 and 5:30 on Wednesday afternoons. Children will be brought to classes from their classroom or from aftercare and when their class is over they can be picked up or join aftercare.

Prérequis : Songwriting is for 2nd-5th graders
