Canoe Camp (7 to 12 yrs. old)

“Canoe believe this view? Oar am I just seeing things?” - Someone’s Dad

Come explore the amazing Rideau River and join in on fun water-based adventures this Summer. Canoers will improve their paddling and water safety skills and enjoy a variety of exciting water-based fun. When campers are not on the Rideau River, they will have time to play a bunch of awesome land-based games and activities. During canoe camp weeks, campers will be in the canoes each day.

Prerequisites for Canoe Camps (all weeks):

• No paddling experience is required to participate in the CAG Canoe Camps
• All paddlers registered for Canoe Camps must be able to successfully pass a Swim Test that will be conducted in early June 2024. Three (3) dates will be provided.
• Campers must successfully complete the following swim test in its entirety, without any stops, in sequence, with or without a personal flotation device (P.F.D.)

1. Rolling entry (backward or forward) into deep water at 2.75m (9’) minimum depth
2. Tread water for 1 minute
3. Swim 50m (164’) continuously any stroke

Week 2 – July 2 – 5, 2024 (4 days)

Week 4 – July 15 – 10, 2024 (5 days)

Week 6 – July 29 – Aug 2, 2024 (5 days)

Week 9 – Aug 19 – Aug 23, 2024 (5 days)
