Barbara Jamison has developed a method of working with liquefied acrylic paints that is truly unique. She floats paints on water which sits on the canvas laid flat on a table. Paints are moved with palette knives, by blowing through a straw and even by heating with a torch. Stunning and varied natural organic images develop on the canvas through this methodology. Join CLE for a private studio visit and demo at her log cabin studio and gallery in the Trillium Village area of Cashiers.

Presenter: After a 20-year career as a successful senior marketing executive, Barbara Jamison retired, switching left brain to right. Always fascinated with Art, she joyfully leapt into Sculpture and Painting, studying clay, pastels, and oils. She was on a search for the right medium and style to express her passion for Nature. She found both in acrylics, but instead of using paints in the conventional manner, she experimented with a fresh, artistic expression which led her to her place, her passion, and her natural aquatic-organic world. Paint pulls her to her studio every day with a promise of soul-satisfaction and amazing discovery. Barbara has just recently been appointed to the Board of The Bascom in Highlands NC. She now resides in Cashiers, NC with her husband, Jim. The Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Barbara with an Award for Advocacy of Arts & Culture in Cashiers.

Notes : Cancellation Policy Please let us know immediately if you are unable to attend a class. There is no refund for cancellations within two (2) weeks prior to a scheduled class. Programs that include food, beverage or art materials must be canceled within three (3) weeks prior to receive a refund. CLE reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum enrollment has not been met or for circumstances beyond our control, and participants will be notified, a complete refund will be issued. All classes are held in the CLE Lecture Hall at the Peggy Crosby Center unless otherwise noted. In the event information has changed from the published brochure, it will be posted on our website and in our e-blasts. Addresses for “private home” venues will be provided to registrants within 2 days of the program date.
