Description :
In this class, the instructor will consult with each student before class to determine what project they want to start with. This could be hand towels, scarves, shawls, table runners, or yardage for sewing. In order to add more interest to your weaving, we will cover more advanced techniques. These include finger manipulation techniques such as Leno, Spanish Lace, Brooks Bouquet, and Danish Medallion, as well as use of pickup sticks in advanced patterns and overshot. Depending on the interests of the participants, we will also cover winding an indirect warp, how to warp and weave for patterns such as herringbone and Log Cabin, and (for those with ability to use 2 heddles) how to warp and weave doubleweave cloth. Student Supplies: ● Rigid Heddle Loom ● Shuttle sticks (at least 2) ● Yarn for project ● Measuring tape ● Scissors ● Notepad & writing tool ● Calculator (in phone or otherwise) Instructor will have extra shuttle sticks and pickup sticks available for use in class. A small supply fee of $5 will be collected by the instructor to cover demonstration materials and handouts.
