Extracurricular, project-based, STEM classes for ages 4-14. Students practice problem solving skills as they learn to build and use technology.
Engineering for Kids brings science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to kids ages 4 to 14 in a fun and challenging way through classes, camps, clubs, and parties. We are proud to inspire children to build on their natural curiosity by teaching engineering concepts through hands-on learning. Engineering is, after all, one of the fastest growing industries in the world!
Each class centers around the Engineering Design Process, in which students are encouraged to invent, build, succeed and even fail sometimes, always followed by improvement and innovation! Students receive a few minutes of instruction, during which our instructors show them how the concepts they learn in school, and the problems humanity faces in the real world, relate to their project. Most of the time is spent designing and building and testing their projects.
Projects include: Coding to make or improve video games and animations, building a rocket that goes 100 ft in the air, building a roller coaster powered by inertia, using CAD to create models in 3D, using slicer software to prepare and print a 3D model, building and programming robots to perform a specific task, and joining classmates in the virtual world of MinecraftEdu to solve environmental and mechanical problems.
