We play pitch and rhythm patterns found in folk songs, then put the patterns together. Our hand position makes finger muscles touch the piano keys musically: loud / soft, short / long, high / low, and fast / slow. In only 5-6 classes, we can accompany most simple songs by playing the "big 3" chords and some singable melodies.
