Are you struggling to stay focused, manage stress, and maintain a healthy balance between social life and well-being?

Please join our brief “Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation Course” designed for beginners and curious minds. You will learn how to direct your attention in a deliberate manner to focus on the present experience of body, mind, and emotions. We will be offering methods and tools to improve your focus, concentration, and bring mindfulness into your daily life. This course is open for all and does not require any prior experience or training in Mindfulness practice.

This course is a four-week session divided into 90 minutes each where the participants will be attending a talk addressing the guided meditation session followed by a Q&A. This course is a practicum offering in order to get Manish’s MMTCP certification.

Instructor bio: Manish Kumar is originally from BodhGaya, India - the place of Buddha's enlightenment and was a Buddhist Monk in Thailand prior to attending the UBC Okanagan as a Graduate student under the IGS program. Currently, he is also undertaking a 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teaching Certificate program (MMTCP) through Sounds True led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach which is also certified by both the Awareness Training Institute (ATI) and Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley. These are two of the finest mindfulness teachers out there (in my humble opinion!). More details on them can be found here:  https://jackkornfield.com/; https://www.tarabrach.com/
