Description :

This class is for a beginner/intermediate sailors (0-3 years experience), ages 8-12 and 50-110lbs. Kids will enjoy 2-3 sailors in a boat and the winds tend to be milder in the morning. Please contact Sailing Director Liz Rollins at TEIAsailing@gmail.com if you have questions about class placement.

Notes : Emergency contacts, medical information, insurance #s, and liability waiver forms must be completed online in Amilia by each student's parent/guardian before their first class. Students are asked to bring their own US Coast Guard approved life vest with a whistle attached (or borrow one of ours), foul weather gear and a water bottle. Classes will meet rain or shine, but students will remain on shore in dangerous weather. Our instructors’ 2024 class placement assignments for last year’s sailors are available. Prérequis : On the first day, students are required to swim the length of the dock (30 ft - without floatation aids) and then put on a lifejacket while in the water when it is thrown to them. *Occasionally, a younger student may be admitted if they can pass the swim test and have a great deal of prior experience on boats and being around the ocean.
