PRESCHOOL LEVEL 3: Stroke Development

The purpose of this level is to build on skills in Preschool Level 2 and improves participants’ coordination of simultaneous arm and leg actions and alternating arm and leg actions.

 

This class is for swimmers that are ready to perform skills independently for greater distances.

 

Participants MUST be able to:

• Completed the skills of Preschool Level 2

 

Participants will focus on performing the following skills INDEPENDENTLY in DEEP WATER:

• Front, jellyfish and tuck floats
• Back float and glides
• Jumping into the pool
• Recover from front and back glides to a vertical position
• Change directions while swimming on front or back
• Swim on front and back for a minimum of 15-20 yards

 

Participants must be able to complete the above skills comfortably with confidence and consistency to move to Youth Level 2 or 3. Please check with your instructor for guidance.
