Description:

Drop-in for Half-Day, Session for Full Day.

In honor of Earth Day 2024, April 22, we'll be exploring engineers' role in literally saving the world!

9:00 am-11:45 am: The morning will consist of fun and delicious activities simulating the real-life problems environmental engineers face. We'll try to minimize pollution in mining operations (except we'll be mining chocolate chips out of cookies!), and we'll also explore ways to reduce waste production through reusing materials before they're recycled!

12:30 pm-3:15 pm: During the afternoon, students will work together in the virtual world of Minecraft to build an environmentally conscious farm, focusing on effective use of water in agriculture and reforestation to combat our use of lumber.

Available: 7/12

Price: $90.00 Taxes waived

Required age: 4 - 12 on the day of the activity

Notes: We recommend packing a snack for each camp session, in addition to lunch, since students will be using a lot of brain power. They will have a snack/water/restroom break in the middle of each session.

Prerequisites: Students who have never used Minecraft will have the opportunity to complete a tutorial that teaches them how to maneuver and interact in the game using keyboard and mouse before joining the class project.
