Description:

Put yourself in the shoes of professional engineers! Our lab environment lets students experience the engineering design process with them at the steering wheel! Lab participants work together with our coaches to put together individual study plans based on their own interests and goals. Good for students who want to explore a certain field of engineering in depth, or for students who want to get to know various fields to see what sparks their passion.

Fields to Study in the Engineering Lab:

  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Marine Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • And others!

During open lab time, students have access to:

  • tools and supplies of our maker space.
  • Proprietary project based curriculum with vocabulary and real-life examples accompanying the building challenge.
  • hundreds of supplies and building kits.

Upon completing a level in their chosen field, students will have the chance to test their understanding with fun quizzes and building challenges. They'll then receive their level award and be allowed to move on to a more advanced curriculum, or change to a different field to get a broader understanding of engineering.

In case of early arrival, please stay and supervise your child until they are allowed to be officially checked-in. Please enter the building to check-out your child, and be prepared to show ID. Students should be picked up no later than 10 minutes after their scheduled end time. We bill $1 per minute for unsupervised children left with us outside of these 10 minute windows. Absence Procedure: If you need to miss class, please notify us by text or email at least one hour before start of class in order to receive a make-up pass. We can no longer give refunds or prorations for absences. Your registration fees secure your spot in this class and allow us to keep small student to teacher ratios. Make-up passes now expire after one month, and we do not save spaces in classes for make-ups, so please try to schedule your make-up class ASAP to avoid missing the opportunity to use your pass.

Prerequisites: For the Technology and Engineering Labs, students should be in middle school (or as young as 9 years old at an intermediate skill level in all the subjects they wish to study in the lab)

More information: If the session is full, please join the wait list, we will open another section of this class.
