Description:

This class is ideal for students who are passionate about robotics and have at least few years of experience building machines and coding, especially if they are interested in joining a competitive robotics team with Coach Leo or at their school.

Students who have studied intermediate robotics with us in the past for one or two seasons should be well prepared for this challenge.

In Advanced Robotics, student will use the VEX IQ Robotics platform with thousands of pieces at their disposal to build custom robots to complete specific challenges. Student will also practice driving the robots with controllers, and programming them to move autonomously.

Required age: 11 - 14 on the day of the activity

Notes: Check-in/out Procedures: Students may be dropped off, but no earlier than 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. In case of early arrival, please stay and supervise your child until they are allowed to be officially checked-in. Please enter the building to check-out your child, and be prepared to show ID. Students should be picked up no later than 10 minutes after their scheduled end time. We bill $1 per minute for unsupervised children left with us outside of these 10 minute windows. Absence Procedure: If you need to miss class, please notify us by text or email at least one hour before start of class in order to receive a make-up pass. We can no longer give refunds or prorations for absences. Your registration fees secure your spot in this class and allow us to keep small student to teacher ratios. Make-up passes now expire after one month, and we do not save spaces in classes for make-ups, so please try to schedule your make-up class ASAP to avoid missing the opportunity to use your pass.

Prerequisites: Students should have prior experience coding and building robots, preferably the VEX system.
