Start date: Thursday, January 4 2024.
Schedule:
On Thursday from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
From 1/4/2024 until 5/16/2024
Room 1 - Engineering Room

Location: Room 1 - Engineering Room | 6530 S. Buffalo Dr., #115, Las Vegas, NV, 89113
Description:
Using the newly released Sphero Blueprint building system, we'll build and test all of the simple machines. Simple machines, such as inclined planes, pulleys, gears, and linkages--form the foundation of a mechanical engineer's toolkit. Each simple machine creates mechanical advantage by changing the direction and/or magnitude of force and makes it easier to do work. In this unit, students explore all of the simple machines through hands-on exploration and application, investigating how to use mechanical advantage to our advantage in machines seen every day in the world around us.
Mandatory membership(s):
Available: 6/10
Price: Starting from $128.00 /month
Required age: 9 - 17 on the day of the activity
Notes: Check-in/out Procedures: Students may be dropped off, but no earlier than 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. In case of early arrival, please stay and supervise your child until they are allowed to be officially checked-in. Please enter the building to check-out your child, and be prepared to show ID. Students should be picked up no later than 10 minutes after their scheduled end time. We bill $1 per minute for unsupervised children left with us outside of these 10 minute windows. Absence Procedure: If you need to miss class, please notify us by text or email at least one hour before start of class in order to receive a make-up pass. We can no longer give refunds or prorations for absences. Your registration fees secure your spot in this class and allow us to keep small student to teacher ratios. Make-up passes now expire after one month, and we do not save spaces in classes for make-ups, so please try to schedule your make-up class ASAP to avoid missing the opportunity to use your pass.
