This has become a new favorite style of summer camp, where students are really challenged to come up with their own solutions. Each day of camp, we'll suggest a common everyday problem that students will be challenged to solve using mostly mechanical engineering skills, tools, hardware and recyclables, and any other tools they have learned how to use here already at our STEM Learning Center.

They'll form think tanks according to age and ability, and work together to brainstorm and prototype different solutions until they come up with the idea they think will be most successful for them, then make a final version to showcase at the end of the week.

We'll also be taking suggestions from students on what problems our next Inventor Challenge Camp should tackle!

This camp really gets to the heart of engineering, and helps students see that engineering is all about inventing technology that makes life easier.

Notes: We highly recommend packing a snack to eat during mid-class break. Students staying for AM and PM camp sessions should also bring a peanut free lunch.
