Introduction to Catamarans is for multihull novices who already know how to sail monohulls. It is not a beginner course nor a substitute for Basic Sailing.

Catamarans are the speedboats of sailing. Some say once you’ve tried them, you won’t want to go back. See for yourself.

But catamarans can be tricky to maneuver. Even experienced sailors need a few pointers and supervised practice to get started.

Scheduled on Saturday mornings for busy adults, this 2-hour class is the structured intro you need to confidently handle multihulls on your own. It is the ideal prep for enjoying our catamaran rental fleet.

Please note: Tod’s Point Sailing School is located in Greenwich Point Park which requires Town issued Beach Passes or Guest Passes for access to the Park. Greenwich residents can apply for Beach Passes at Town Hall and Out of Town Non-Resident Guest Passes can be purchased online on the Town of Greenwich website here.

Notes: Course meets 9:30 AM to 11:30 PM Saturday and Sunday for one weekend.

Prerequisites: Ability to swim. Monohull sailing experience. Completed Adult Basic course. Adult course participants may bring and use their own USCG approved PFD personal flotation device (i.e., life jacket) each day or may use the school PFD's. We recommend Type III PFDs for program use.
