Location: Greenwich Point Park

Description:

Paddle Explorers offers non-sailors an opportunity to venture out onto local waters with a supervised experience. Our staff will teach you the basics of safety, paddling dynamics, and self-rescue technique. They will lead you on daily paddling adventures around Greenwich Point.

This course uses a mix of sit-on-top kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. You get to try both. Each day’s adventure is a bit different, based on tide and weather.

Our friendly experienced guides will offer pointers and show you around the harbor. It’s the perfect intro to becoming a Tod’s Point paddling regular.

All sailing school paddle craft may be rented by the hour. TPSS is open to the Greenwich public for rentals every day all summer long.

Greenwich Residents

Tod’s Point Sailing School is located in Greenwich Point Park which requires Town issued Beach Passes or Guest Passes for access to the Park. Greenwich residents can apply for Beach Passes at Town Hall.

Out-of-Town Visitors

Out-of-town parents dropping off and picking up their children for scheduled Tod’s Point Sailing School programs may enter the park in accordance with the following guidelines. The parent must show proof (TPSS Registration receipt) that the children being dropped off are enrolled in a sailing program on that specific date. The Gatehouse Gatekeeper will hold the driver’s license while they drop off the student(s) and return it when the driver exits the park. That normally takes approximately 15 minutes.

As a reminder, if someone in the car is planning to stay at the beach and not leave immediately, they need to have a day pass to stay in the park for that day. If the parent dropping off the children plans on staying in the park, they would need a parking pass for the car and a day pass for each person in the car. The passes can be purchased on line Monday through Friday from May 1st through October 31st.

Out of Town Non-Resident Guest Passes can be purchased online on the Town of Greenwich website here.
