Description:
Online registration will close at 10am on race day. Onsite registration will be available beginning at 3:30pm at the Minturn Saloon in Minturn. Cost includes shuttle, raffle prizes and beer at post-race party. Join the Vail Recreation District and the Town of Minturn for the 4th Annual Town of Minturn Downriver Dash! The races will be divided between two categories, including kayak (under 9'6") & 2-person raft* (10'6" or smaller) teams. The race starts at the Boneyard Open Space, South of Minturn, and finishes at the Minturn Saloon, in central Minturn. Racers should park at the finish in the Town of Minturn municipal lot adjacent to the Turntable. The VRD will provide shuttles to the start for racers and gear. Who can participate? The Vail Whitewater Race Series is open to all paddlers ages 16 and up and intermediate to expert abilities. The skills to run class III whitewater in your chosen craft are required. This is a fun way to track your individual performance, progress throughout the series and compete against others. All competitors are entering at their own risk. Preregistration is highly recommended, online registration ends at 10:00 am on race day. Day-of registration will only be accepted on a space-available basis. Race day bib pickup and registration begins at 3:30pm at the Ford Park Parking Lot, there is a mandatory safety talk & course instructions at 5:15pm at the Boneyard Open Space Start Area, and all races begin at 5:30pm with 1 minute intervals.
The Minturn Down River Dash is presented in partnership with the Eagle Valley Land Trust and the Eagle River Coalition.

Required age: 16+ on the day of the activity
Prerequisites: Online registration closes at 10:00 AM on race day after that you may register at the race on a space available basis. Under 16 year old participants should email wsmith@vailrec.com to inquire about registration.
