Description :

This club will foster problem solving, planning and design skills as students design and program electronic games and animations. Over the course of the year, students will learn about the process of developing video games, planning good stories, and audience experience.

The platform we will be using for this class is Bloxels, an educational platform that guides students to use pre-programmed blocks to plan their very own platform or top-down games.

Students can join at any time, and progress at their own pace. Students will have supervised access to Youtube, where Bloxels hosts their instructional videos. Students will also be able to publish their games for the public to play. Their account is online, so they have access to work on their games at home with internet access through a tablet or computer.

After the class ends, or after they unenroll, students can choose to purchase their accounts from Bloxels to have continued access to their art and to edit games or make new games.

Notes : Check-in/out Procedures: Students may be dropped off, but no earlier than 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. In case of early arrival, please stay and supervise your child until they are allowed to be officially checked-in. Please enter the building to check-out your child, and be prepared to show ID. Students should be picked up no later than 10 minutes after their scheduled end time. We bill $1 per minute for unsupervised children left with us outside of these 10 minute windows. Absence Procedure: If you need to miss class, please notify us by text or email at least one hour before start of class in order to receive a make-up pass. We can no longer give refunds or prorations for absences. Your registration fees secure your spot in this class and allow us to keep small student to teacher ratios. Make-up passes now expire after one month, and we do not save spaces in classes for make-ups, so please try to schedule your make-up class ASAP to avoid missing the opportunity to use your pass.
