Spring 2024 registration is now open for registrations.
Classes begin on April 3, 2024.
We are offering Primary (K-3) and Intermediate (Grades 4-7) class times. Please choose the group that works best for your children and your personal needs.
*Note some field trips are held at different times, including an evening Astronomy class (Tuesday evening), and merged with the Intermediate class.
*Note the evening Astronomy class is held at a different time (Tuesday evening); and field trips will be merged with the Primary class.
For field trip experiences, children *MUST* also be enrolled in the previous Nanaimo Science program - they are sold as a paired program. We are hosting field trips at specific times that may not coincide with regular class times - please note this is due to coordinating with our field tirp locations and guest presenters.
Registrations are available for the full-semester/12-week students first, or by the individual class/class-field trip pairing.
Questions can be directed to any of our team members in person, over the phone (778-268-2289) or by email at info@nanaimoscience.org

We are experienced in science education, and provide students with access to specialized equipment and experiences to support their learning journey. Our Outreach Educators hold degrees in science but also convey their passion for science, nature and learning to children. They are compassionate and have skills to adapt our lesson plans for the unique learning needs of our students.
Homelearners may use their Student Learning Resource Funds (also known as allotment funds) to pay for Nanaimo Science programs. You can use the "Skip & pay later" option and connect with Nanaimo Science to invoice your distributed learning school for payment. Please note, if you do not have sufficient funds available with your distributed learning school, or, if there are any issues with payments from your distributed learning school, families will be responsible for the cost of programs they have enrolled in.
For more information please contact info@nanaimoscience.org
Transportation is not provided - families must drop off and pick up children.
Children must be willing to try activities and listen to leaders. Behaviour between children must be respectful - any physical misconduct or actions that endanger others or themselves will result in parents being called to pick up their child immediately and cannot return to future days of programs. Equipment used at Nanaimo Science must be used properly and as intended. For our Wandering School/Outdoor Education programs children are expected to walk safely in outdoor locations as a group, and stay with the group at all times. Children must demonstrate appropriate behaviour and language and follow all safety instructions from leaders - warnings and redirections will be issued where possible, but repeated misconducts will result in parents being called to pick up their child and returning to future days of programs may not be allowed.
Please share detailed information about any behavioural or medical conditions with us through the questions posed during the registration process.
