Living our DNA: The New Amilia Values

When it came time to refresh our core values, we co-created them with our people from teams across the company. We now have a renewed set of values that capture what drives success at Amilia — so that we can grow without losing our unique culture.

At Amilia, we’ve always believed in working differently. Since day one, our mission has been to revolutionize how communities connect and participate in activities, and we’ve grown a lot along the way.

As we scale, one thing matters more than ever: holding on to what makes us who we are.

That’s why, when it came time to refresh our core values, we didn’t take a top-down approach. Instead, we co-created them with our people from teams across the company. Through a series of workshops, Amilians from every team and level came together to ask meaningful questions such as:    

What values and behaviors define success at Amilia?

What drives — and hinders — engagement at work?  

What behaviors have contributed most to employees’ success?

The result? A renewed set of values that truly belong to us all. We created these values to capture what drives success at Amilia — so that we can grow without losing our unique culture. Our renewed values clarify the mindset and behaviors that fuel impact at Amilia, helping people thrive and do their best work.  

Our five core values, “Own It, Care, Better Together, Level up, and Be Authentic”, are now firmly rooted in everything we do.

Own It – We’re empowered to act and are accountable to deliver

At Amilia, ownership stands at the root of our daily work. Every Amilian is entrusted with responsibility, whether you're driving a major initiative or contributing to a cross-functional project.  

This value is exemplified during our quarterly All-Hands meetings, when directors and executives publicly own and present their OKRs updates, taking ownership of the objectives they've set and the results they've delivered. In front of the team, they show accountability. These moments send a clear message: our leaders take full responsibility for moving the business forward, and they do so openly, with the entire organization contributing. When leaders “own it” at every level, it creates a ripple effect of responsibility, trust, and commitment across the company!

Level Up – Continuous growth is driven by our mindset

Every Amilian is encouraged to stay curious, take initiative, and keep learning, no matter their role. Whether it’s exploring new tools, embracing mentorship, or diving into a challenge outside your comfort zone, we believe progress happens when you lean into learning.

This spirit shows up in everyday moments—like our AI Community of Practices, where team members across departments share resources, insights, and breakthroughs in real time. It’s a space of organic curiosity, where developers, marketers, and customer success managers alike come together to learn, test, and grow—together.

A further example is about our development teams, that reinforce the Level Up mindset with a powerful mantra: “Fail fast, learn fast.” Inspired by industry leaders like Reid Hoffman, Amilians are encouraged to take calculated risks, own their outcomes, and treat every misstep as an opportunity to grow. There’s a shared commitment to improvement at Amilia: leveling up isn’t about perfection, but more about showing up with a mindset that’s open and always hungry to be better.

Care – Reaching high standards and going the Extra Mile  

Amilians foster a mission-driven culture. Whether it’s the quality of our work, the empathy in our interactions, or the passion we bring to projects, we go the extra mile because we know it matters.

The Care value was powerfully demonstrated through our team’s recent involvement in the YMCA Challenge — an initiative supporting the health and well-being of vulnerable youth and families in our Montreal community. A passionate group of 24 Amilians rallied to walk or run together, raising an incredible $143,000 in support of the YMCA’s mission to reduce social inequality and promote wellness for all.

For a company dedicated to helping communities thrive, this implication wasn’t just a fundraiser; it was a reflection of who we are as caring partners. Our mission is rooted in connection, inclusion, and impact. Participating in the Challenge was a natural extension of that mission, and a reminder that when we care deeply, we lead meaningfully, and we go the extra-mile for our clients. When Amilians care, they show up—with purpose, passion, and pride.

Better Together – Collaborating and leading with trust, not ego

At Amilia, collaboration is the backbone of how we operate. We believe that the best ideas and the strongest results come from working across teams, not in silos. Our projects are built with shared effort, powered by cross-functional collaboration and a trust-first mindset. Whether it’s product, support, development, or customer success, departments work hand-in-hand with one goal in mind: delivering exceptional results together.

This spirit of collaboration is what sets Amilia apart in the eyes of our clients. For example, Matt Lenner, Director of the Miles Nadal JCC, partnered with us and described our support as unlike anything he’d experienced before:
