Montreal, September 15, 2026 — Amilia, a leader in recreation and membership management software for YMCAs, JCCs, and community organizations, has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Workplaces™ for Giving Back in 2026 by Great Place to Work® Canada.
The recognition is based on employee feedback, including a minimum 90% agreement with the statement, “I feel good about the way our organization contributes to community.” At Amilia, 99% of employees agree that “People care about each other here,” while 96% report a strong sense of community with their colleagues.
Showing up for the communities we serve
Giving back at Amilia is not a once-a-year initiative. It is something employees have continued to make time for throughout the year, together.
In May, 30+ Amilians took part in the YMCA Challenge, collectively running and walking more than 200 km and raising $6,311 for the YMCA of Quebec Foundation, marking the third consecutive year Amilians have participated.
At the YMCA World Council 2026 in Toronto, Amilia served as the exclusive Volunteer Sponsor, bringing more than 15 Amilians together to support a global gathering of more than 1,300 YMCA leaders from 80+ countries.
And this September, employees will come together at Festival VITA, a free community event welcoming more than 20,000 people. Amilia will have its own booth and a team employee volunteers.
These are different initiatives, at different scales, but they reflect the same thing: Amilians showing up together for the communities they serve.
Giving back is part of the mission
Amilia’s mission is to be a caring partner to thriving communities, helping people stay active, healthy, and socially engaged by connecting them to local activities.
The organizations Amilia serves, from YMCAs and JCCs to Parks & Recreation agencies and community centers, play an important role in bringing people together. For Amilians, supporting those communities goes beyond building technology. It means getting involved alongside them.
“Giving back has never been a separate initiative at Amilia. It’s what happens naturally when our team believes in the mission. Our clients dedicate themselves to building stronger communities, and we want to contribute in the same spirit. Whether we’re running for the YMCA, volunteering at World Council, or showing up at a local community event, we believe in doing it together.”— Hugo Lachance, CEO of Amilia
Better Together, beyond our walls
The common thread across these initiatives is that Amilians rarely give back alone. Employees from different teams come together to contribute their time, energy, and skills to something bigger than themselves.
That reflects two of Amilia’s values: Care, by going the extra mile for the communities we serve because it matters, and Better Together, by working collectively to make a difference.
